Project details

The project aims at improving students' knowledge of English as well as their ICT skills. Students impersonate young discoverers and inventors. They get knowledge about inventions which are the most important for the humanity. They also find out about famous inventors and travelers. Finally they design and invent their own things which could make their lives easier. Students not only invent things and objects but also discover people's feelings, emotions and promote tolerance and acceptance among people of different nations.

Aims: - motivating students to learn English; - improving students' and teachers' knowledge of English as well as their ICT skills; - getting knowledge of famous inventions, inventors, discoverers and travelers; - designing things and objects by students on their own; - discovering and respecting people's feelings, senses, emotions; - promoting the idea of tolerance and acceptance to people of different nationalities; - getting to know culture of the partner countries.
Work process: At first students will exchange information about themselves, their families, schools and countries. They will choose the inventions which are most important for the humanity and explain why. They will also prepare posters. The next step will be to learn about famous discoverers, inventors and travelers. Students will give their ideas to make the learning process more interesting. Then, the students will invent and design their own things. They will become discoverers of people's feelings and emotions, too.
Expected results: Students: - improve their English and ICT skills; - learn to plan their work, cooperate in groups, share tasks in the groups, take decisions; - learn about famous inventions, inventors and travelers; - can invent their own things and objects; - can discover people's feelings and respect them; - are tolerant and accept people of different nationalities; - use modern internet technologies; - create a website; - can select and collect information. Teachers: - improve their English and ICT skills; - support students' ideas, help them, advice and decide together; - share ideas and experiences with teachers of the partner schools; - discuss and make conclusions concerning the progress of the project. Schools: - improvement of relationships among students, teachers and parents; - promotion of the schools in local communities; - involvement of a big number of students into the project; - bigger motivation to learn among students and to teach among teachers.
